Chicharito returns for Westham
Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez is expected back in action for David Moyes’ Westham this weekend.
The former Manchester United forward has been unavailable after suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty with Mexico in their 3-3 draw with Belgium in November but he will be in contention to feature when they take on Chelsea on Saturday after returning to full training this week.
He may see only a few minutes of action but it is likely he will be involved, stated Moyes who Chicharito hasn’t played for since he became Manager.
“We’re looking much better” Moyes explained at a press conference on Friday
“We have had a whole host of players back training for a few days, not fully training and in some cases, I would say not fully fit either, but it’s good to get them back.” “Back training, yeah, he’s one of the ones back in training,” referring to Hernandez.
The two had a feisty relationship during their time together at Manchester United, seeing Chicharito back on the pitch will do well in calming Mexico fans’ nerves, many of whom may dread another calamitous affair between the duo but Moyes reacted to this by saying that he looks forward to a “new era of relations” between them.
