We must be ready to suffer – Montella
Sevilla Manager, Vincenzo Montella has admitted that the team is aware that to have a chance of progressing to the next round at the expense of Premier League giant, Manchester United, they must be ready to suffer.
The Round of 16 tie is poised at 0-0 on aggregate after last month’s first leg at Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan which ended goalless. Sevilla are desperate to progress to the competition’s quarter-finals for the first time in their history and Montella is mindful of the tough task that lies ahead of Los Rojiblancos to make history.
While speaking with reporters in his pre-match conference, the former Milan Manager said: “This is a massive opportunity for us and important for the history of the club.”
“We will be giving everything to try and achieve progression, but we are under no illusions that we will have to suffer for 90 minutes or more.
“It’s a very special occasion for Sevilla, a really important game and we dream of a place in the quarter finals, it’s a big competition and to reach that stage would be momentous for us.
“We have confidence in our own ability, and we believe this will be an evenly contested match.”
